Michelle Grywalski, RN, BSN

Clinical Nurse Educator-Critical Care

Michelle Grywalski began her career at UC Irvine Medical Center in 1998 as a bedside nurse in the intensive care unit (ICU). She found her passion to care for the critically ill patient population during a critical care rotation while training as a nurse. This passion was further solidified after she moved to the medical center’s burn unit a few years after starting at the medical center.

Over the years, Grywalski has gained her critical care experience from working as a bedside nurse in medical, cardiac, surgical, thoracic and burn intensive care units.  She also worked as a traveling nurse on the East Coast for two years.

In September 2011, Grywalski joined the Department of Nursing Quality, Research and Education as a clinical nurse educator for critical care.

Grywalski  finds the ultimate joy in life just by hanging out with her two children and husband. She also enjoys going on medical missions in the Philippines to serve and provide free medical services to the underserved.
